CHICO, Calif. – FEMA has delivered hospital beds to Butte County to create a Field Medical Station (FMS) at the Enloe Rehabilitation Center in Chico.
Monday, April 6, medical supplies provided by FEMA were delivered by the 146th Airlift Wing of the Air National Guard to the Enloe Rehabilitation Center, Enloe announced.
This site is designed to expand medical surge capacity as needed in response to the coronavirus pandemic. As a field medical station, it will extend the county’s capacity to treat patients requiring hospitalization.
Field Medical Stations are not open to the public, patients will be admitted to this location after a clinical assessment from a healthcare provider, Enloe officials said.
The Enloe Rehabilitation Center will be converted and outfitted with 125 field hospital beds and supplies to treat patients in need of hospitalization.
Butte County Public Health worked with Enloe Medical Center to secure the location of the FMS.
