OROVILLE, Calif - There was a competition in Oroville, but there were strings attached, those strings being that you need talent!

On Saturday it was the “State Fiddle Championships.”

There are eight fiddle divisions, two twin fiddle divisions, two picking divisions and an “anything goes” division.

“I hope they would come and support it in their local areas there are fiddle organizations all up and down the state. There’s a district for every geographic area. This happens to be a District one where the organization was founded, here in Oroville,” said Sharon Barrett, the president of the California State Old Time Fiddler’s Association.

Fiddlers came from all over California and even a few from as far away as Nevada.
