MENDOCINO COUNTY, Calif. - The Draper City Fire Department out of Utah has identified the firefighter killed fighting the Mendocino-Complex Fire Monday.
The fallen firefighter has been identified as 42-year-old Matt Burchett.
Burchett was airlifted and transported to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Draper officials say a group of five Draper City firefighters deployed to California on August 2nd to help bring the fire under control.
Cal Fire announced the massive wildfires have grown to about 350,000 acres.
