1 person burned, outbuilding destroyed following fire near Happy Valley

All roads are open and evacuations have been lifted following a fire south of Redding, according to the Sheriff's office.

HAPPY VALLEY, Calif. (UPDATE: 3:21 p.m.) - All roads are back open and evacuations have been lifted following a fire in Happy Valley, according to the Shasta County Sheriff's Office.

The fire started around 1:40 p.m. behind a home off of Lassen Ave. The fire burned nearly three acres, destroyed one outbuilding, and left one person with a burn injury, according to CAL FIRE.

Crews were able to contain the fire in about 30 minutes.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Firefighters and the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office are on the scene of a fire in the area of Bright Path in Happy Valley, south of Shasta County.

The Sheriff’s office has ordered evacuations for the area. Authorities said traffic in the area is being controlled and the public should avoid the area to allow fire crews to work.

CAL FIRE told Action News Now said the fire has been contained to about an acre.
