Evacuation warnings issued northwest of Lake Davis in Plumas County

The Plumas County Sheriff's Office issued evacuation warnings for the area northwest of Lake Davis.

PLUMAS COUNTY, Calif. - There are evacuation warnings for Beckwourth Genesee Rd. south of Antelope Lake Rd. to Grizzly Ridge and North of Argentine Lookout, according to the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office said the area south of Beckwourth Genesee Rd. to the northwest side of Lake Davis along Grizzly Ridge, to the west and including the Walker Mine.

The warnings went into effect at 10 a.m. Wednesday. 

The Sheriff’s Office said there is not an indication of the population in the areas in evacuation warnings.

Shelters are located at the Springs of Hope Church in Quincy, the Holy Family Catholic Church in Portola and the Veterans Memorial Hall in Portola.

The Dixie Fire has burned 637,728 acres and is 33% contained.

It took a few hours, but the sun broke through the clouds over most of northern California Tuesday afternoon. The low clouds, fog and light rain showers return to the valley Wednesday, with snowy weather in the mountains.
