Evacuation shelter set up in Yreka

A shelter is set up at the Jackson Street School in Yreka for those who have been evacuated by the Lava Fire.

YREKA, Calif. - The Red Cross has set up an evacuation shelter at Jackson Street School in Yreka, the Siskiyou County Office of Emergency Services said.

The shelter is at 405 Jackson St. and all residents that are under evacuation orders from the Lava Fire are welcome to go to the shelter.

The shelter will have a place to sleep, meals, water, laundry, child care and more.

There is a large parking area available for trailers.
