Evacuation orders reduced to warnings for areas near Lake Almanor, including Chester

Several evacuation orders have been reduced to warnings in Plumas and Tehama Counties on Wednesday.

PLUMAS COUNTY, Calif. - Several evacuation orders have been reduced to warnings in Plumas County and Tehama County effective at noon on Wednesday.

CAL FIRE said the Town of Chester, West Shore, Prattville, West Almanor, Peninsula, Hamilton Branch, area of Big Meadows and East Shore have been reduced to warnings. Also, residents along Highway 147 are a reduction from an order to a warning to residents only.

Highway 147, Highway 89 and Highway 36 at Highway 32 to Chester have reopened.

In Tehama County, the D18, D19, E18 and E19 zones were reduced to a warning. Both sides of Highway 32 from the Butte County line and north to Highway 36 are reduced to warnings.

Those areas are from the intersection of Highway 32 and Highway 36, on the north and south sides of Highway 32, to the Plumas County Line are also reduced to warnings, according to CAL FIRE.

Zones E17, F17 and F18 were removed from warnings, according to CAL FIRE. These areas are from the Butte and Tehama County line, near the Jonesville and Butte Meadows area, to Highway 32.

Seneca Hospital is not open for services for residents who return.

Highway 36 west from the Highway 32 intersection will remain closed as Mill Creek and Mineral are in an evacuation order.

The Dixie Fire has burned 637,728 acres and is 33% contained.
