Evacuation orders reduced in Tehama County for McFarland Fire

The Tehama County Sheriff's Office is reducing evacuation orders caused by the McFarland Fire.

TEHAMA COUNTY, Calif. - The Tehama County Sheriff’s Office and the Unified Command Team of the McFarland Fire have reduced several evacuation orders in Tehama County caused by the McFarland Fire.

Zone 158 and zone 169 have been reduced to evacuation warnings at this time.

Zone 158 and zone 169 include all locations:

  • South of Highway 36 between Vestal Rd. on the west side and the south fork of Cottonwood Creek on the east side
  • North of Pettyjohn Rd. from 4 Corners (Pettyjohn/Vestal/Reeds Creek/Cannon intersection) west to Weemasoul Rd.

Zone 112 which was under an evacuation warning will be released from warning status at the same time.

Zone 112 includes:

  • The west side of Highway 36, between Cannon Rd. and the south fork of Cottonwood Creek
  • West to Vestal Rd. and south to Cannon Rd. and Vestal Rd. intersection.

Highway 36 will remain closed at Vestal Road.

Vestal Road will be closed south of Highway 36 and north of Pettyjohn Road, to include Weemasoul Rd.

It took a few hours, but the sun broke through the clouds over most of northern California Tuesday afternoon. The low clouds, fog and light rain showers return to the valley Wednesday, with snowy weather in the mountains.
