CHICO, Calif. -- Enloe Medical Center volunteers made a big donation to the hospital Thursday night.
Volunteers pledged a $1 million donation for the new Alice Starmer Cardiovascular Care Center.
Starmer was an Enloe volunteer and employee for twenty years.
The donation was made available through the Enloe Gift Shop and Every Penny Counts Campaign.
"The overall goal of our foundation was to raise $5 million out of the $20 million project and they met that goal. The $1 million contribution was great and necessary for us to complete the project," said Mike Wiltermood, the CEO of Enloe Medical Center.
The Cardiovascular Care Center is still under construction. It will include three new procedure rooms and new imaging equipment. There will also be 10 bays dedicated to patient care before and after a procedure, a new diagnostic treatment area and a family lounge.
