CHICO, CALIF. - Enloe Medical Center in Chico is reporting that an employee has tested positive for coronavirus.
Enloe President and CEO Mike Wiltermood said Thursday that the hospital is working closely with Butte County Public Health officials to notify those who may have had contact with the employee.
A hospital news release describes the employee as having a "community-acquired" case of COVID-19. It said employees are required to wear masks in patient care areas, are checking their temperatures daily, and self-monitoring for symptoms.
Wiltermood also says, "We are grateful for the sacrifice our employees are making in their commitment to care for our community while working to protect themselves and their families from exposure to the virus."
He went on to say that, "As health care professionals continue the frontline fight against COVID-19, we are thankful for community members that adhere to the prevention guidelines outlined by public health officials."
