CHICO, Calif. – An employee at a Dutch Bros in Chico tested positive for the coronavirus.
The employee worked at the location on 1733 Esplanade. Dutch Bros officials said the individual received a positive coronavirus test result on Sept. 3. The individual was advised to self-isolate in accordance with local and state mandates.
Prior to the positive test, the employee worked an afternoon shift on Aug. 29 and a morning shift on Aug. 30, according to the Dutch Bros website. Dutch Bros representatives said after talking with health experts on best practices, a closure was not recommended.
The business says they deep cleaned the location as an extra precaution.
Representatives from Dutch Bros management said all their employees have to wear masks whenever they clock in for work. It is also increasing handwashing for employees and sanitizing, and accepting only debit or credit cards as payment.
