Emergency shelter opening for Dixie, Beckwourth Complex victims

An emergency shelter will open at Greenville Elementary School on Monday for people who lost their residence during the Dixie or Beckwourth Complex fires.

GREENVILLE, Calif. - An emergency shelter will be opening for displaced Dixie and Beckwourth Complex fire survivors on Monday, the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday.

The shelter will open at Greenville Elementary School at 225 Grand St. at 2 p.m.

The shelter will have meals and is open to people who lost their residence during the Dixie and Beckwourth Complex fires.

Officials will help victims by making sure they have signed up for available services and ensure they get help in planning long-term housing solutions.

People are asked to wear a mask and social distance.
