OROVILLE, Calif. - A fireman at the El Medio fire station discovered his belongings, including a checkbook, were stolen from his vehicle overnight.
Crews with the El Medio Fire Department, in Oroville, have been working around the clock to help fight fires breaking out around the North State.
Recently, their teams have been fighting the Stoll Fire that destroyed four homes in Tehama County.
While the firefighters have been working to keep our communities safe from dangerous wildfires, someone was working to steal from them.
The station tells Action News Now that the theft happened sometime overnight Sunday.
The El Medio Fire Station took their social media, calling it "a sad day" and asking the thief to return the stolen items.
The Oroville Police Department is investigating.
