Durham High School to cancel events due to COVID-19 outbreak

Durham Unified School Superintendent, Joanne Parsley announced Friday a list of canceled or postponed events due to COVID-19.

DURHAM, Calif. – Durham Unified School Superintendent, Joanne Parsley announced Friday a list of canceled or postponed events due to COVID-19.

As of Friday, March 13, 2020, Butte County has zero COVID-19 cases, according to public health. At this time, all Durham Unified Schools will remain open.

All the events are only for Durham High School, Parsley said.

  • Baseball to Oroville
  • Softball tournament in Weed
  • Chico FFA Field Day
  • Merced FFA Field Day
  • CSF Ashland Oregon trip
  • Jazz Festival
  • Superior Region FFA speaking and parliamentary procedure contests – March 18
  • Superior Region FFA meeting and State Degree Ceremony – March 19.

Parsley said the district hired additional custodial staff to ensure classrooms are kept disinfected nightly.
