DURHAM, Calif. - The Durham All-Star Junior Baseball Team will compete for a NorCal State Championship in Healdsburg, California.

The team dominated in the district and section tournament. The Durham Juniors are undefeated throughout All-Stars.

Not only that, they've beat most of their opponents by at least 10 runs.

Brady Doyle has been playing baseball since he was five years old.

"It's awesome," he said. "It's a once in a lifetime opportunity for me and all our players. It's awesome to travel. It's been so fun with my teammates. They're awesome."

Jason Thomasson is the team manager.

"I think the guys are all excited to travel a little bit for baseball," he said. "Makes you feel like a big leaguer. They're having a lot of fun. Good camaraderie. Good families. It's a lot of fun to be around the people we're working with. It's a great community."

Coach Thomasson added that it's the first time his team has made it to the state tournament.

The Durham All-Star Juniors plays their first game against Porterville Saturday at 11am.

They're one of seven teams competing for the state title.

Thankfully, the wind is cooperating much better today in northern California. Our weather is still quite hot for this time of year and very dry. There is plenty of haze and smoke from the Fawn Fire overhead, and it isn't leaving yet.
