UPDATE: Drug Arrest Caught on Camera in Oroville

An Oroville man and his girlfriend were arrested Thursday afternoon on felony charges for possession of methamphetamine, possession for sale of heroin and a misdemeanor charge on marijuana.

Oroville, Calif. — An Oroville man and his girlfriend were arrested Thursday afternoon on felony charges for possession of methamphetamine, possession for sale of heroin and a misdemeanor charge on marijuana, according to Butte County District Attorney Mike Ramsey.

22-year-old William Hawkyard of Oroville had three outstanding felony warrants from Placer County, according to the District Attorney.

The District Attorney said Oroville Police recognized Hawkyard when he dropped off his girlfriend at the Butte County Superior Court for her own hearing on Thursday.

Oroville Police followed Hawkyard to the Home Depot parking lot and arrested him, according to the District Attorney.

224 grams of methamphetamine, heroin and marijuana in the forms of bud, shake and concentrate were found in Hawkyard's vehicle, according to the District Attorney.

The District Attorney identified Hawkyard's girlfriend as 21-year-old Naomi Zermeno. She was arrested for the same charges as Hawkyard.

The District Attorney said Hawkyard and Zermeno are being held on $415,000 bail in the Butte County Jail.

Oroville, Calif. —A drug bust happened in the parking lot of Oroville Home Depot Thursday afternoon.

The man was surrounded by several Oroville Police officers as he put his hands in the air.

Oroville Police say the man was arrested on drug charges.

The name of the suspect was not released.

Police gave no other details to Action News Now.

The case has been handed over to the Butte County Interagency Narcotics Task Force.
