SHINGLETOWN, Calif. – One person is dead after a single-vehicle collision Sunday afternoon, west of Shingletown.
The CHP said around 3:10 p.m. a silver 2005 GMC Envoy was eastbound on Highway 44, west of Shingletown, near Boulder Ridge Trial. The driver lost control of his vehicle and crossed to the north edge of the road, where it struck a telephone pole, shearing it at the base.
The vehicle continued along the shoulder and struck a pine tree. The driver was wearing a seatbelt, but CHP pronounced the driver dead at the scene.
