REDDING, Calif. - It's a new era for the Downtown Redding area. The Downtown Street Circulation Project is almost complete.
A new Downtown Redding signed is posted along Tehama Street and Market Street. With the Downtown Street Circulation Project almost finished, the Redding Chamber of Commerce says the changes to the area will help bring tourists and support local businesses.
“It's wonderful to have people have a good experience when they're down here and be pleasantly surprised by what they've seen and tell their friends,” said Jake Mangas, the CEO for the Redding Chamber of Commerce. “It's good for commerce.”
People say they are excited about all the changes coming.
“I think it's great for people living downtown and the businesses downtown,” said Mike Moynahan of Redding. “We need this a lot.”
The City of Redding anticipates the project to be finished on Feb. 19.
There will be a virtual grand reopening of the Market Street area on Feb. 24.
