REDDING, Calif. - The City of Redding is getting into the holiday spirit!

Downtown Redding’s Christmas tree has officially landed! They're not decorating the tree just yet - but the star is already placed on top.
The tree is located right next to the umbrella alley. People in the community say, they're excited to see the holiday spirit kick in.

“I think it's great, it really adds to the season and it makes more fun to come downtown, it's terrific," shared Redding resident, Mike Stewart. "Anything that will bring us a little more joy is good, including this Christmas tree. I look forward to it being decorated.”

The tree was cut down on Sunday. The Christmas tree lighting will take place on Dec. 4.

The first of two storms moved over northern California late last night and this morning, but our weather has quieted for now. More rain showers will fall Saturday, but heavier rain and snow with stronger wind arrives Sunday.
