With more people staying at home this holiday season, more people cooking. Also, there are additional seasonal dangers including heaters, holiday lights, and dry Christmas trees. Recently, in our area, the Red Cross responded to 15 home fires and served 48 clients. These fires happened in Yuba City, Eureka, Magalia, Fort Bragg, Sacramento, Citrus Heights, Yreka, Pin Grove, and Montgomery Creek. Home fires claim seven lives a day in the United States.
