Chico Police are on the look out for a man who allegedly tried to assault a 12 year old girl.
Chico Police say the girl was walking with her dog in the area of E. 12th Street and Park Avenue at around 8:30 Sunday, when a man tried to grab her. The dog, a boxer, reportedly growled and snapped at the suspect, prevening him from harming the girl. The victim then fled to her home and notified her parents.
Chico Police say the suspect was last seen running westbound on E. 12th Street toward Park Avenue. Chico Police searched the area, but the man is still reportedly at large. The suspect is described as a dark-skinned male, possibly Hispanic or Indian, thin in build with a dark colored beard or goatee. He had dark, long hair when was in a bun or ponytail. The suspect was wearing a tan camouflage coat. The victim also stated the suspect had strong body odor and appeared to be disheveled.
