PLUMAS COUNTY, Calif. - The community of the northeast side of Indian Valley is now under evacuation orders due to the Dixie Fire, the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office said.

This order includes Dyer Mountain, southeast to Keddie Ridge and Diamond Mountain Rd.

Stampfli Lane to Wolf Creek and northwest to North Valley Rd and Pecks Valley Rd. are under this order.

The order will include Williams Valley Rd. at the intersection of Lower Williams Valley Rd. and northwest to Highway 89 at Second Water Tower Creek.

People in this area should evacuate south toward Quincy and there is a shelter set up at 59 Bell Lane.

The Sheriff's Office said the evacuation shelter in Chester is closing due to capacity and “logistical reasons.”

A shelter will be set up at Lassen community College at 478-200 on Highway 139 in Susanville.

The East Shore of Lake Almanor was evacuated Tuesday afternoon as well as west Lake Almanor.

Chester is under an evacuation warning.
