Betancourt and Dahle advance to November assembly seat ballot

Northern Calif. - It will be Democrat versus Repulbican in the November run-off.  Assembly District 1 encompasses a small section of Butte County, all of Shasta County, and several other counties in the Northeast corner of California.

Five candidates had hoped to replace former Assemblyman Brian Dahle.

With 100% of the votes counted, Democrat Elizabeth Betancourt of Shasta County leads the vote.  Republican Megan Dahle, wife of Brian Dahle, comes in a close second.  The two women will face off in the November 5th run-off.

UPDATE 11:25 p.m., August 27 - 100% of votes have been reported as of 11:27 p.m. Those percentages are below:

  • Elizabeth Betancourt (D) – 39.1%
  • Megan Dahle (R)  – 36.2%
  • Patrick Henry Jones (R) – 17.3%
  • Lane Rickard (R) – 1.8%
  • Joe Turner (R) – 5.6%

Elizabeth Betancourt (D) and Megan Dahle (R) will go against each other on the November ballot.
