Detectives investigating fight involving 5 people in west Chico

The Chico Police Detective Bureau is investigating a fight that broke out on June 26 in west Chico.

CHICO, Calif. – The Chico Police Detective Bureau is now investigating a fight that broke out just after 3 a.m. June 26, involving 15 people.

It happened Friday, June 26 on the 1500 Block of W. 3rd Street in Chico around 3:30 a.m., according to the police. The Chico Police Communications Center received a 911 call about a large fight, with 15 people.

As officers were arriving at the scene several people were seen running from the area, according to the police. Through investigation, officers said they learned a fight broke out between five individuals. All were interviewed by police and a police report is being completed, according to the police.

Based on the levels of intoxication, no arrests were made at the time of the initial investigation, police said. However, officers said because of the levels of intoxication involved, there will be further follow-up with all involved parties.

Chico Police said once the case is completed, all investigative reports will be sent to the Butte County District Attorney’s Office for a review of charges.
