UPDATE: 5:02 p.m. Monday, Dec. 21, 2020 - The Shasta County Sheriff's Office provided an update on a November 3 shooting in west Cottonwood that left one man dead.
According to the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit, they identified that suspects using the alias of “Qufar” and “Pirate” were involved in the shooting death of Isaac Patino. Detectives said they were able to identify “Qufar” as 28-year-old Abdiqafar Mohamud Mohamud, from Seattle, Washington.

On Nov. 4, a no-bail warrant for homicide was issued by the Shasta County Superior Court for Abdiqafar’s arrest. Abdiqafar turned himself into the Shasta County Jail on December 19, 2020, according to the sheriff's office. He was booked on the outstanding homicide warrant and is currently being held without bail.
On Nov. 7, an unknown subject contacted the Shasta County Jail and stated he was responsible for the homicide that occurred on Two Feathers Road and he was going to turn himself in.
The following day, detectives said they contacted 28-year-old Abdishakur Isaq Ibrahim, also from Seattle, Washington, at the Shasta County Jail. Abdishakur was identified as the suspect known as “Pirate” and was placed under arrest for suspicion of homicide, according to the sheriff's office. He was booked into the Shasta County Jail and his bail was set at $1 million.
Abdishakur and Abdiqafar remain in custody at the Shasta County Jail. At this time, both suspects have declined to provide statements to detectives. COTTONWOOD, Calif. - Shasta County Sheriff's deputies are investigating an early morning shooting in west Cottonwood.
Dispatch confirmed with Action News Now it happened around 1:42 a.m. Tuesday at the 4600 block of 2 Feathers Road.
When deputies arrived, they located 19-year-old Ciaara Robberson, from Redding, and 22-year-old Isaac Patino, from McKinleyville, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. They were transported to a local hospital where Patino died due to his injuries. Robberson is expected to survive and is still being treated for her injuries sustained during the shooting.
The Shasta County Major Crimes Unit was contacted and ultimately took over the investigation.
When detectives arrived at the location, they discovered the property was being used as a marijuana growing operation. There were several makeshift outbuildings and a dilapidated travel trailer that appeared uninhabitable where Patino was ultimately located by deputies.
The marijuana operation had already been processed and removed from the property prior to this incident. Based on witnesses’ statements, evidence collected at the scene, the shooting appeared to be an isolated incident, according to the Shasta County Sheriff's Office.
