SUTTER COUNTY, Calif. - A 13-year-old was arrested Monday after deputies received information of a social media threat that was made on Saturday, according to the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office.

On Saturday, the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office received information about a social media post that eluded a possible shooting that was going to happen at Live Oak Middle School on Monday.

Deputies and the Sutter County Probation Department began to investigate the possible threat and began to plan for extra patrol staff to be at Live Oak Middle School and Live Oak High School on Monday.

On Monday, the Sheriff’s Office was able to determine the IP address of the social media post, leading to the arrest of a 13-year-old.

Deputies did a consent search of the teenager’s home after speaking with the parents. Officials found a cell phone they said was used to create the social media post.

No weapons were found and the teenager was booked into juvenile hall on several charges including terrorist threats, the Sheriff’s Office said.
