SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. - The California Department of Fish and Wildlife is looking for volunteers who love the outdoors.
It says it's a perfect opportunity for anyone who loves fishing, hunting or hiking. There is an application process for prospective volunteers to go through and they'll get training if accepted.
Terry Barr is a volunteer.
"You can sit on the edge of the banks of the Sacramento River," Barr said. "You know you can see it's just so peaceful you know and everybody is happy."
Bob Ferrera also volunteers with the Dept. of Fish and Wildlife. He says he really enjoys the fresh air and what he learned helps him with his job as a teacher.
