Debris burning suspended in Shasta and eastern Trinity Counties

Saturday, December 16, all residential burning will be temporarily suspended until further notice.

Posted: Dec 15, 2017 3:46 PM

Due to the recent lack of rainfall and the upcoming National Weather Service Wind Advisory beginning Saturday, December 16, all residential burning will be temporarily suspended until further notice within the State Responsibility Area in all elevations of Shasta and Eastern Trinity counties.

The ban includes all residential outdoor burning of landscape debris such as branches and leaves. The suspension takes effect today, December 15, 2017, and will continue until the extreme fire danger subsides and more favorable debris burning conditions exist.

The suspension of burn permits for residential landscape debris does not apply to campfires within organized campgrounds or on private property.
