BERRY CREEK, Calif. - The Butte County Sheriff's Office said two pitbull lab mixed dogs attacked a woman walking with her dog.

The woman went to the hospital with cuts to her arm and back.
Her dog was too badly injured and could not be saved; a deputy put it down.

"My officers are continuing the investigation and following the California requirements for quarantine and bite investigations and are going to be making contact with an owner and establishing what needs to happen next," Ryan Soulsby, Animal Control Program Manager said.

Officials say the dogs were not wild and came out of a house before the attack.
