Update 7:54 p.m., August 28, 2019 - The fire, on the Pit River arm of Shasta Lake, is about an acre in size.
Firefighters are having to boat in to the area, as well as hike, to get to the flames.
The Forest Service says they have seen a number of lightning strikes today but no additional fires, so far.

SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. - Crews are responding to a lightning-caused fire that they are calling the Green Fire located near Green Mountain and Shasta Lake.
Shasta-Trinity National Forest tweeted that the fire is approximately 0.25 acres and smoldering in timber understory, crews are arriving via boat and then hiking in.
