CAL FIRE crews are responding to a 16-acre vegetation fire in Red Bluff on Friday.

UPDATE 3:26 p.m. Friday, July 12, 2019 - CAL FIRE crews said all forward progress has been stopped for a 16-acre fire burning in Red Bluff.

RED BLUFF, Calif. - CAL FIRE crews are responding to a 16-acre vegetation fire in Red Bluff on Friday.

The fire was first reported Friday afternoon between southbound I-5 and the Corning Canal, north of Flores Avenue. 

The fire is now 60% contained and crews have been able to mitigate any threats to structures.

Dry weather, sunny skies, warmer temperatures, and gusty north winds will drive elevated fire danger today. We'll have even stronger winds, but cooler temperatures on Tuesday. Fire danger will remain elevated. There will also be a chance for light showers in the Sierra on Tuesday and Wednesday.
