REDDING, Calif. – Firefighters rescued two individuals from a house fire in Redding Wednesday morning.

Around 5 a.m. firefighters arrived at 1126 Ledell Drive to a well-involved, single-story home. Crews said three people had evacuated and two others were still inside the home. Redding Fire crews rescued the two people from the fire and transported them to a local hospital for treatment.

Additional resources arrived to help firefighters extinguish the blaze. The home was majorly damaged and vehicles in the driveway were minorly damaged, according to RFD.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. However, the department said smoke alarms were not located in the home, which eliminated early notification to the residents to evacuate.
