OROVILLE, Calif. - Crews are on the scene of a fire on Wyandotte Avenue in Oroville where officials say forward progress has been stopped.

Calls came in around 9:30 p.m. and Oroville Police and Fire Chief Joe Deal said some in the Olive Hill Mobile Home Park were evacuated due to the fire being behind the trailers in the grass.

Chief Deal said because of Oro Fire and El Medio's fast response, they did stop forward progress quickly.

There is no word yet if any buildings were damaged or destroyed and people are still evacuated, according to Chief Deal.

Thankfully, the wind is cooperating much better today in northern California. Our weather is still quite hot for this time of year and very dry. There is plenty of haze and smoke from the Fawn Fire overhead, and it isn't leaving yet.
