CALIFORNIA - New health laws for 2020 will begin on Jan. 1, including the requirement of Californians having to have health insurance.
Californians must enroll by Jan. 31 or face a penalty if they choose to go without health care coverage in the coming year.
The penalty can be $2,000 or more for a family of four and will be applied at the beginning of the year.
There is new financial help available to eligible consumers, including middle-income consumers who previously did not receive any assistance.
