CHICO, Calif. - A musical duo from Chico is singing their way into the hearts of others.

Ben Ruttenburg and Samantha Francis are musicians who perform as The Bidwells.

When the COVID-19 pandemic halted live performances and their income, they found a way to keep the music alive.

The two give personalized mini-concerts outside of people's homes like they did for 91-year-old Cybil.

"We always come away feeling so fulfilled and happy during this difficult and anxious time," the couple said.

"It was the perfect gift to be able to pick songs I know would mean something to her, have them serenade her, it was beautiful," said Desta Dunlap, who hired the two for her mom.

The Bidwills follow the Centers for Disease Control guidelines with social distancing.

The cost is a pay what you can, arrangement for a gift of live music, without leaving home.
