CHICO, Calif. - A federal judge is threatening to fine the City of Chico and a council member for speaking about details discussed at the settlement conferences, according to court documents.

The court document states that Councilmember Sean Morgan was on a radio program when he spoke about “certain specifics of the parties’ positions” and “disparaging the parties as a result of those positions” in the Warren v. City of Chico lawsuit.

The interview was posted on Sept. 9 at midnight. It can be found here.

"So we're gonna shut it down," Morgan said on the radio program. "We're gonna take the resources there. We're gonna put them at Comanche Creek, not to make the plaintiffs happy because they're never gonna be happy."

The judge is giving the defendants seven days from Monday to show why “significant monetary sanctions” should not be issued against the City of Chico and Councilmember Morgan.
