CORNING, Calif. - The Corning Police Department is welcoming its newest member, K-9 Blaze.
He is an 18-month-old Belgian Malinois and came all the way from the Netherlands, the police department said via Facebook.
Officers said a big thank you to several local businesses and groups that helped them get the new K-9.
They added that over the recent weeks, K-9 Blaze and Officer Corry have been attending K-9 training in Sacramento. They will continue training through February 2020.
“We look forward to having this team hit the streets and meeting the community that is so supportive of our department and its K9 program.”
Richfield Feed & Supply will be supplying dog food for K-9 Blaze and the Corning Patriots, including Gerald Lequia, donated to the Corning K-9 fund.
