SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. - A community in Shasta County is urging FEMA to make repairs to the Misselbeck Dam.
Ono District officials say they are seeking close to $2 million for repairs with a large portion of money lined up to fix the dam's clogged pipes.
"It impacts several things. I'm sure that it charges the well in many of the households and like, I said, if there's a green patch in our area, chances are that it's from our water. It's a way of life in this quiet little community that depends on it," said Igo-Ono Community District President Charles Tucker.
District officials say problems with the Misselbeck Dam, located 22 miles west of Redding, stem from the 2018 Carr Fire.
