GRIDLEY, Calif.- The community in Gridley came together for a barbecue to welcome their new neighbors who are living in the FEMA homes at the Gridley Industrial Park on Saturday.

The event was organized by Nevada Smith, CEO of 'Sutter Buttes Manufacturing', which is located across the street from the industrial park. Smith said the event exceeded his expectations thanks to all the support he recieved from other members of the community.   He says, "It was my way to reach out and help out and meet my new neighbors that's how it all started. It's way more than I would ever expect, I expected to have a little barbecue and all this just amazes me. It just warms my heart."

The event featured food, live music, raffle drawings and fun activities for the whole family.
