Colusa County Sheriff's Office find body of missing 18-year-old

UPDATE 8:35 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2019 - The Colusa County Sheriff's Office released they found Canchola's body in a canal, southeast of Williams.

Officials say at around 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 20 they received a call about a body being found in the area of Myers and Lonestar Roads.

Detectives and a dive team responded and say they found the 18-year-old's body floating in the canal.

The Sheriff's office says they have been investigating since Canchola went missing and their thoughts are with his family and friends.

COLUSA COUNTY, Calif. - The Colusa County Sheriff's Office is searching for a missing 18-year-old from Colusa.

On Oct. 27, at 12:30 a.m., 18-year-old Jose Canchola was last seen leaving a residence on foot in the area of the 6000 block of Myers Road, in Williams.

Jose is described as a Hispanic male adult, 6 feet tall, 135 lbs, with black hair and brown eyes. Jose was last seen wearing blue jeans and a camouflage hooded sweater. 

On Oct. 28, the Colusa County Sheriff's Office led a large search & rescue operation in the area of Lonestar Road and Myers Road in Williams. Assisting the search were local fire departments, pilots and the Colusa County Search & Rescue Team.

A search by vehicle, foot and air was conducted with negative results at this time. Further search operations are currently underway.
