The animal-loving volunteers are out.
We’re talking about the 24-hour service marathon hosted by the Butte Humane Society and Capital Division of Circle Kay.
The service marathon started bright and early at 8 a.m. Saturday and the event consist of volunteers from 10 colleges in the north state as far as San Francisco and even Reno.
One organizer says this all happened last minute and that it helps strengthen the Chico community through service.
“So this is an impromptu change drive and we are just out here collection change for the Butte Humane Society and all that we do,” said Honey Souza, a volunteer and foster coordinator for BHS.
This event will continue into 8 a.m. Sunday so go donate all the change you have for a good cause.
Butte Humane currently needs funds for medical funds such as spay and neuter programs.
