It's going to stay cool across Northern California today, and we have a decent chance for some showers brushing through our region after noon. The best chance for showers will be in the Sierra, but we can't rule out the chance for some sprinkles in the Northern end of the valley. Some light showers will also be possible in the Northern Mountains this afternoon. Snow levels will range from 3500' to 4500', but amounts are not expected to be impressive. Mostly cloudy skies have returned for your Thursday morning, and have helped to keep temperatures slightly warmer this morning. Valley areas are in the mid 40's for the start of your Wednesday, and mountain areas have dipped into the high 20's to mid 30's overnight. Winds will start out light, but will pick up to around 15mph out of the South this afternoon. The best chance for showers will be in the Sierra this afternoon, and tonight. Most areas will see less than a 10th of an inch of rain, and the majority of the valley is expected to stay dry. High temperatures will top out in the mid 60's for the valley this afternoon, and mountain areas will end up in the 40's to mid 50's.
We will have a slight potential for some Sierra showers lingering into the early afternoon for Thursday, but the rest of Northern California is expected to dry out by tomorrow morning. Skies will clear to become sunny to mostly sunny, and temperatures will be on the rise. High temperatures will end up in the low 70's for the valley on Thursday, and in the 50's to 60's in the mountains. Breezy North winds are also expected to return for the end of the week. Areas surrounding the Jarbo Gap will more than likely see gusty winds to end the week. Dry, mostly sunny, and even warmer temperatures are on the way for your Friday. Valley areas will top out in the low 80's on Friday afternoon, and mountain areas will range from the 60's to 70's.
The weekend looks absolutely amazing! Sunny to mostly sunny skies, and above average temperatures are projected for both Saturday and Sunday. Valley areas will end up in the low to mid 80's both afternoons this weekend. We do not have any active weather expected across the region, so conditions will be ideal for outdoor activities. We will have a very modest dip in high temperatures on the way for the start of next week, but valley areas are projected to stay in the low 80's through Tuesday. There will be a slight chance mountain showers returning towards the middle of next week.
