REDDING, Calif. - The City of Redding is making it easier for businesses looking to do outdoor dining.
They're making it possible for restaurants to stay open out on the streets.
Restaurants, bars, and breweries looking to switch to outdoor seating can simply apply for a permit.
All you have to do is fill out your business information and the type of outdoor dining that best fits your business, whether it be outdoor dining, public sidewalk, or private property, and then email it back to the city.
Action News Now spoke to the owner of a brewing company near downtown Redding who says the permit will help his already hurting business since he’s not allowed to do indoor dining anymore.
“I will be applying for it and reaching out to both the city and the ABC to just put out an area out here, out front, and put some seating out here,” says Scott Wlodarczyk.
Many businesses like Woody’s Brewing Company forced to switch gears and transition to outdoor dining just to stay afloat.
This after a new state order shutting down all indoor dining.
The owner of Woody’s Brewing Company says he’s got plans to revamp his outdoor area.
