OROVILLE, Calif. - The Oroville City Council has banned the selling of flavored tobacco.

At the Jan. 7 meeting, the council heard from over a dozen people with a majority in support of the ban. Supporters gathered over 500 signatures in support.

The Butte County Director of Public Health was at the meeting and shared a county-wide ban will be discussed soon.

At Oroville's next meeting on Jan. 21, a public hearing will be held, the ordinance would take effect 30-days after.

This ban follows on the heels of Chico's ban that was approved at a December meeting.

We've been warming today under a sunny sky, and the heat will only get more intense going forward. Today we warmed back to seasonal averages, and it will get much hotter through the weekend and beyond.
