ORLAND, Calif. – The City of Orland has a new Mayor.

New council members were sworn in Monday night. Newly elected to the city council, Jeff Tolley and Chris Dobbs took their oath of office as administered by City Clerk Janet Wackerman.

Bruce Roundy also took the oath of office to start his fourth term. The Council then selected among its ranks Roundy as mayor, Tolley as vice mayor.

The council, municipal staff, and community members expressed appreciation to James Paschall, Sr. and Salina Edwards as they stepped away from decades of city council service. Both served the community with multiple terms on the council. Edwards also served as vice mayor and Paschall as mayor.

"I'm looking forward to continuing the good course Orland is on, and helping this new council be successful in a very challenging time in history," Roundy said.

Orland mayors serve for a one-year term unless re-elected by a 4/5 vote of their council colleagues to serve a second year, with two years in a row being the maximum allowed by Orland municipal code.

We have beautiful weather around northern California right now, but it will get a lot more unsettled this weekend as a storm moves overhead. We can expect gusty wind, a big cooldown, and areas of light to moderate rain.
