ORLAND, CALIF. - Orland City Manager Pete Carr said in a live interview on Action News Now News at Noon with Linda Watkins-Bennett that Orland is working closely with its county partners and the chamber of commerce to make sure everyone understands the orders from Governor Gavid Newsom. He also said that the city is working in concert with the Emergency Operations Center at the Glenn County Sheriff's office.
Carr went on to say that Orland employees are on the front lines as public servants who continue to keep law enforcement, fire, water and sewer, streets, park maintenance, building permits going ... even though buildings are closed to the public.
According to Carr, people who live in Orland are respecting social distancing and using outdoor spaces like parks in a passive way, and not congregating. He said as long as users respect social distancing parks can continue to be available to them.
He also said that the City Library staff is working to help people online and by phone, getting books put and that the library has many resources available online.
