CHICO, Calif. - The City of Chico is actively responding to all storm-related issues throughout the community, according to Public Information Officer Lynda Gizzi.

Multiple departments are responding to calls for service including Public Works, the Chico Fire Department, and the Chico Police Department.

Gizzi says to report flooding, downed tree limbs in the right-of-way, or other immediate infrastructure issues, to please call the Chico Police Department non-emergency line at (530) 897-4900.

For non-immediate issues, people can email rightofwaymaintenance@chicoca.gov or use the online form here.

Sand is available at the Public Works Department parking lots located at 901 Fir St. and 965 Fir St. Residents are advised to bring their own shovel to load sandbags, which can be purchased at hardware stores.

Gizzi said motorists are advised to avoid driving on roadways and to not drive through barricades. She reminds the public that when approaching a traffic signal that has lost power or is in flash, the intersection should be treated as a four-way stop.

To report power outages, residents can call PG&E at (800) 743-5002 and for medical emergencies can call 911.
