CHICO, Calif. - A federal judge will not be issuing a fine or sanctions to the City of Chico and Councilmember Sean Morgan, according to Morgan.

Morgan was interviewed on Sept. 9 on a radio program when he spoke about “certain specifics of the parties’ positions” and “disparaging the parties as a result of those positions” in the Warren v. City of Chico lawsuit, according to court documents.

The judge gave the defendants seven days to show why “significant monetary sanctions” should not have been issued against the City of Chico and Councilmember Morgan.

On Monday, Morgan confirmed there will be no fines.
