CHICO, Calif. - The Chico City Council plans to reconsider its support of a Butte County housing bill at Tuesday's meeting.
The bill, crafted by Assemblyman James Gallagher, is aimed at speeding up housing projects after the Camp Fire.
In April, Chico Mayor Randall Stone criticized the bill.
The bill was then amended to address concerns of Butte County and the Natural Resources Committee.
The Assembly of Natural Resources Committee approved the bill with commitments to make additional amendments.
Mayor Stone met with James Gallagher outside the committee room and agreed to provide Gallagher's office with suggested amendments to the bill.
Next week, the bill will be voted on in the Assembly Appropriations Committee.
The meeting is open to the public and starts at 6 p.m. on Tuesday in the City Council Chambers.
