CHICO, Calif. - The 21st annual Relay For Life event is coming up Saturday, Sept. 21, in Chico.

Relay For Life will be 12 hours from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Degarmo Park. SERVPRO of Chico-Lake Almanor will provide breakfast for the Survivors.

Relay For Life is a community-based fundraising event for the American Cancer Society.

The event will start off with an opening ceremony by honoring everyone who has been affected by cancer and everyone who has contributed to the success of the Relay season this year.

Then a Survivors and Caregivers walk will occur, followed by a Luminaria Ceremony, everyone touched by cancer with a Luminaria will be represented. This is a chance to give people the opportunity to grieve, receive comfort, and hope.

Curves in Paradise will host a free social event, Relay For Life Survivor Social on Sept. 12 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. They are inviting all survivors and caregivers to join for an evening of drinks and appetizers.
